Fall Classes Begin September 17

Registration is moving ahead briskly for classes which will begin on Friday, September 17th. We are really excited about the great lineup of classes and instructors we have for the new school year -- be sure to tell your friends and acquaintances that there are still spaces available in all classes! Please note that the deadline for advance registration discount has passed.  Registration is now $225.  If you haven’t registered yet, you can check the website at lacauserie.org for information on each of the classes. For individual questions about classes in your language, call:

Italian – Emily Wilhite

Spanish – Doug Eikerman

French – Barbara Shaw

Parking Reminder

We know parking will be difficult the first month or so, so plan arrive early so you can hunt for a spot. You might consider carpooling with a friend. Please do not park in the Crestwood Shops on 55th Street even if you’re late and desperate. If we take up their limited space, it cuts into their business, and we want to be good neighbors.

Helpful Hints for Classes

Please fill out a nametag each week. To start, we will have a table set up on the first floor for nametags and late registration. After that, name tags will be in the hallway on the third floor. Our teachers want to be able to call you by name. Plus this helps you get acquainted with your classmates so you can have a more enjoyable and personal experience.

Please put your name in all your textbooks and reference books. Books do get left behind sometimes and you’ll be glad to find your lost book, with your name in it, in our Lost and Found in Room O.

Italian Program Coordinator Needed

We still need a member of the Italian classes to be the contact person for the Italian cultural programs for the year. We already have three or four speaker names and are looking for six programs max, so it won’t be a difficult job. For more information, call Amanda Hassett.

Looking for program Ideas

We are always looking for cultural programs. If you have suggestions, talk to Joan Adam about Spanish programs, or Dalene Bradford about French program ideas. Or share your idea with Amanda Hassett and she’ll get it to the right person. We pay a $50 honorarium to speakers and we take them out to lunch if they have time.
