Annual Meeting May 3, 2013
The Annual Meeting will be held in the Calvin Center at noon on Friday, May 3, 2013. The nominating committee will recommend the slate of officers for the next year, the end of year budget will be reviewed and information about the 100-year celebration will be shared. Due to the 100-year luncheon on May 17, 2013, we will not be having the traditional end of year Fete along with the annual meeting.
100-Year Anniversary of La Causerie
Save the date: Join in the fun by saving May 17, 2013, for a luncheon at Grand Street Cafe in honor of La Causerie’s 100 year Anniversary. Invitations will be mailed within the week. In order to make the event enjoyable for you we ask that you RSVP as soon as possible including your check and meal selection on the enclosure. If you wish you may bring your RSVP to Amanda at La Causerie. The luncheon will be held at the Grand Street Café on May 17 after our final class of the year. We are planning activities to help us celebrate and hope that most of you are able to attend.
On January 11, 2013, at least 89 current students, teachers and staff of LaCauserie gathered to have a group picture taken to kick off the 100-year celebration. A Copy of the picture will be displayed in the break room along with a sign up sheet if you are interested in obtaining a copy of the photo.
Have you seen some of your fellow students using the terrific 100 Year Anniversary canvas tote bag? It is sturdy, colorful, and large enough to hold all the books we bring with us each Friday. You may purchase yours from Amanda or from one of the board members. It is a great buy at only $12.00. Get yours while the supply lasts!
The Board and teachers are truly interested in your feedback and hope that you will take the time to complete the survey recently sent to you by Judy Pearlstein. We will be taking the opportunity over the summer to evaluate the classes so they meet the needs of as many students as possible. Please complete the survey. Your feedback is very important to us. Paper copies will be available in the social room for those of you who prefer to use that format.
Know Anyone Interested In Classes?
Although classes for this year are about to end, we encourage you to continue to spread the word about the La Causerie language classes. If you know of anyone interested in taking classes, even through the end of this session, please direct them to the La Causerie website for more information. We realize a majority of our enrollment is due to the continual support and word of mouth of our members.
Any purchase made through Amazon benefits La Causerie. Please use our web page at www.lacauserie.org, go to the bottom of the page and click on Amazon. La Causerie receives a percentage of your purchase amount.
Enjoy the weekly coffee and snacks? Please remember that members donate these treats. If you are interested in volunteering snacks, there is a sign up sheet for Friday mornings in the Social Room. You will not be expected to feed the whole school, as three or four other members will contribute too. La Causerie provides the coffee and tea and we ask for donations to help cover the beverage costs, which are not allotted in the La Causerie budget. All contributions are appreciated.
We have been asked to remind students to please refrain from parking in the spots in front of the Crestwood Shops.
The last day of class for this session is May 17, 2013, prior to the luncheon. We look forward to seeing some of you at our mid summer activity (watch for announcements) or in the fall when classes resume. Have a great summer!
