If the newsletter on your computer screen
looks oddly spaced or is difficult to read for some reason (gigantic spacing or
odd symbols), there is a plain text version of the newsletter attached for
you.
If you CAN read this, there is no need to
open or download the attachment—it’s the very same thing that you see here on
your screen.
A
Nominating Committee is being formed to select a slate of officers for the
2005-2006 year. If you are asked to be on this committee or serve as an
officer, understand that it is an opportunity to participate more fully in our
organization. Volunteers are vital to our group and when you consider the fact
that La Causerie Française was formally organized as a group in 1913, we
have had a lot of volunteers!
Since
officers may only serve two terms, offices to be replaced this year are
President, Mary Ann Hope; Second Vice President, Mary Lew McCarty; and
Assistant Treasurer, Debbie Starr.
Last fall at a business meeting La
Causerie members voted to make a donation toward the renovation of the Fireside
Room. We recently received this letter from Pastor Keith Hohly, Pastor of First
Lutheran Church in response to the gift we presented to the church at the
Christmas Fete.
At its January meeting, I presented First Lutheran's Congregation
Council with the gift your organization gave us just before Christmas. Needless
to say, they were both surprised and grateful for what you have done and on
their behalf, as well as on behalf of the entire congregation; I extend our
heartfelt thanks for your generosity and consideration.
Please know that receipt of your gift and your request that
it be used in renovating the Fireside Room has been passed along to the
congregation's Property Committee and they have begun developing plans for the project.
Again, thank you so much for your gift. We truly value our
long-standing relationship together as well as the service you provide our
community. We wish you blessings and continued success in this new year and the
years to come.
Peace,
Keith Hohly
Pastor, First Lutheran Church

Torremolinos, Espana during the year.
Larry Downs is heading there this year and wonders if anyone from La
Causerie is going, too. He will be
there from Feb. 16 to March 7 at the Bajondillo Hotel. You can contact Larry
Downs at larlido@aol.com.
