11-12pm
This
class will aim to enhance important language skills of the advanced
Italian student primarily by reading and studying Italian texts,
short stories, childrens' stories, and magazine and newspaper
articles. Grammar will be explained in the context of these readings,
and when necessary we will dedicate more time, or full lessons, to
reviewing and exercising specific grammar concepts. Students will
also work on their written Italian with occasional short writing
assignments.

III Conversation
10-11am
This
class is aimed at students of intermediate level. The aim is to help
the student gain confidence in their language skills by speaking and
listening to Italian, in a supportive environment. Special attention
will be paid to enabling expression, sentence construction, and the
pronunciation of individual students, and encouraging the student to
think constructively, using already familiar vocabulary. We will also
build vocabulary in practical areas such as travel, describing likes
and dislikes and everyday activities, using some reading materials of
intermediate level to facilitate discussion.
Italian
IV Conversation
10-11
am
The
aim of the conversation course is to challenge the student to gain
fluency and, most importantly, confidence, in speaking and
understanding spoken Italian. Conversations will therefore aim to be
as spontaneous as possible, with written preparation limited to a few
words of vocabulary researched before hand (no fully written
presentations allowed!) The instructor will facilitate by asking
questions, suggesting additional vocabulary, and by assisting with
correct use of grammar and vocabulary.
