More information about each course, including any required books or materials, is available on the Course Descriptions page. The description for a specific course can be accessed by clicking on the name of the course in the Class Schedule above.
Visit our Instructor Bios page to learn more about our instructors.
All registration is done through our CourseStorm site. Once you log in, you can browse available classes, register for one or more classes, and complete the payment process. Our CourseStorm Guide below offers additional guidance on the registration process.
The book's ISBN is included in the course description; this can be used to search for the book on Amazon or other book-buying sites. We suggest ordering a used book.
Other websites where you can find textbooks at a good price are:
Our Office Manager handles all communication about registration and will be able to direct your query to the appropriate person.
Phone: 816-301-4110 (all messages will be replied to within one business day)
Unfortunately, if you choose to cancel your registration we are only able to provide a partial refund, regardless of the time frame.
Our third-party registration software charges us a fee for every registration. This money is not returned to us if the student cancels their registration or drops the class, no matter when it occurs.
We also incur administrative costs related to communicating about and processing drops and transfers. (While we mostly run on volunteer energy, the registration season is quite time-intensive and is managed by our one part-time paid staff member.)
We thank you for understanding our efforts to maintain the financial soundness of La Causerie so that we can continue to serve our students!
To drop a class, complete the Drop/Transfer Form before September 30 of the current school year. You will receive a refund minus a $100 fee to cover processing and administrative costs. The refund will either be applied to your credit card or a check will be mailed to you.
No refunds are available after September 30. If you need to drop a class after the refund period is over, please inform the school so that we can let the instructor know and update the class roster.
To transfer from one class to another, complete the Drop/Transfer Form. All transfers are dependent on seat availability. Transfers after September 30 of the current school year require instructor approval.
Students are allowed one transfer per class.
If you transfer to a class that is currently the same cost as what you originally paid, there is no balance due.
If you transfer to a class that is currently more than what you originally paid, you will pay the price difference.
If you transfer to a class that is currently less than what you originally paid, you will be refunded the difference minus a $10 fee to cover processing and administrative costs.
Any subsequent transfers (i.e., transferring from a class you previously transferred into) will be processed as a drop and a new registration. In other words, you will be refunded your original payment minus the drop fee and then you will be charged the full price of the new class.
Click on the "Register in CourseStorm" button at the top of this page to begin.
You can use the search bar to search for a class by keyword (e.g., "conversation"). Or you can use "Browse by Category" to browse by language or by format (in person vs. online).
To register for a class, click the yellow "Register" or "Add to Cart" button.
Select who will be attending. Click "You" if you are registering yourself, or click "Add Person" if you are registering someone else.
You may continue browsing and add more classes to your cart. If you are taking multiple classes, please make sure they don't meet at the same time.
When you're ready to check out, you'll enter your email address. At this point, existing users will need to log in. New users will need to enter their contact information to create an account.
